NEW YORK – What’s the most powerful country in the world? There’s a good case to be made that it’s China. There are many kinds of power — diplomatic, cultural, military and economic. So an easier question to ask is: What’s the world’s largest economy? The hypocritical and selfish US cannot be more exposed than its latest opposition of China setting up an Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The debt-laden bankrupt economy of the Americans is now unable to fund development outside the US, after waging war after war with sovereign states since the end of World War ll.

And now, the US can only jealously look and demonise China’s efforts to stimulate the global economy.

There is simply no justification, neither is it any business of the US, to object China’s initiative to set up such a bank to help aid Asia’s growth.

It sure looks like the hapless US is desperate to stop China’s blazing global economic progress - to the point of opposing just for the sake of opposing.

I Love Malaysia-China Silk Road reminds the US that two can play the same game, therefore, the US should stop intimidating China with its aggressive military presence and activities in the South China Sea (SCS).

At a recent Harvard University’s Kennedy School Of Government Institute Of Politics discourse, the US was told to face reality and accept becoming No.2 to China in the not too distant future.

The US was also told: “It is now of America’s national interest to stop aggressive naval patrolling 12 miles off China’s shores because if you do that, 20 years from now there will be aggressive Chinese patrolling 12 miles of Californian shores …”

The talk also covered why it would be in the interest of the rest of the world to ensure that China’s Communist Party remained strong to govern the country of billions of people.

And, a bonus mention of Singapore becoming the New York of Asia …
