‘What’s good for the goose is good for the gander’ is certainly not true for the US and China!

Liberalism and Democracy in the West
Which Is Under Threat?
By James Poulos
At a moment of pronounced uncertainty and change around the world, Western liberals (broadly defined) are reverting to form, centering their fears on a devastating internal conflict rather than an external threat. During the Cold War and both World Wars, liberals saw the real enemy of the West as coming from withinthe West itself: the barbaric Hun had burst forth from German culture’s genius for art, literature, science, and theology; the godless Socialist had crawled out of the husk of European civilization left behind by trench warfare; and an international elite of intellectuals had succumbed to the delusion that Marx, Lenin, and perhaps even Stalin had solved the problem of social progress. As Frank Warren observed in Liberalism and Communism, not all of the West’s established left grew convinced that the science was in and freedom was out. But the trend was sobering. “I have seen the future, and it works,” Lincoln Steffens infamously reported from Stalin’s USSR, judging “the notion of liberty” simply “false, a hangover from our Western tyranny.” … for more, go to https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/united-states/2017-07-21/liberalism-and-democracy-west

KUALA LUMPUR (January 2018): For decades after World War ll (WWll), the US has been propagating and promoting its democracy to others.

But today, the US’ national debt is still unclear. The official figure is US$20 trillion but, as far back as 2012, academics claim that they suspect the American government was hiding the real figure - US$222 trillion! (View the above video clip link for details)

Today, many nations have signed trade pacts with China and Russia to use their own currencies for trans border financial transactions - abandoning the Greenback.

This spells serious trouble globally for the Greenback and the US economy.

It is only a matter of time, as more and more nations choose not to use the Greenback for trans border trade and financial transactions, the US will be grossly weakened economically and lose much of its global influence - a scenario most unacceptable to the US and its ego.

So, the US global economic desperation will grow and test its tolerance level of facing resistance, challenges and disagreements with others. A scenario that the US have to accept or become irrational against sovereign states.

Defending Liberal Democracy Is Not the Same as Defending 'the West'
If “Western” is synonymous with “democratic” or “free,” then you don’t need the term at all.

The most telling feature of Daniel Foster’s response to my article on Donald Trump’s Warsaw speech is that, while he dislikes my definition of “the West,” he never offers one of his own. I argued that, in the United States today, the best predictor of whether a country is considered “Western” is whether it is primarily white and primarily Christian. (With Protestant and Catholic countries considered more Western than Orthodox ones, and Israel tossed in to buttress the “Judeo” part of “Judeo-Christian.”) I noted that non-white or non-Christian countries aren’t generally considered Western even when they are further west geographically than Christian, white ones (Morocco v. Poland, Haiti v. France, Egypt v. Australia). And that non-white, non-Christian countries aren’t generally considered Western even when they are economically developed (Japan) or robustly democratic (India) … for more, go to https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/07/democracy-west-trump-poland/533208/
